This year's tournament had a record of 32 participants, including one strong robot player and 31 humans, ranging in skill from defending champion to novice. Due to the number of participants, a preliminay round was played,with the best scoring players from the first round playing in the final round.Complete details, and viewable game records, for the first round are online here.

Mona Wins!  Mona, the robot, won all 7 games in the first round, and all 7 games in the final round; winning the tournament undefeated. Robots have played in several previous tournaments, but have not done nearly as well. To help the humans out, some of Mona'sgames have been collected for study. You can read more about Mona and her friends at this address.   Mona's next exploit is planned to be a Mona-vs-World game sponsored by the Mindsports Olympiad.   In view of her stellar performance in this tournament, Mona will retire from play in human tournaments until a suitable challenger arises. Second place in the tournament, and best human performance, is by Jorge Gómez Arrausi, who was undefeated except by Mona, and  who also won last year's tournament.

Third Place (second among mere humans) was taken by Ragnar Wikman.
